Dawn
I rise early before the cocks crow .
I
smile as I look out of the window.
The day is fine and the sky clear ;
Birds' twittering everywhere I hear.
I
boil water to make a cup of tea
That's my morning brew , you see.
Then I clean the house and feed the chickens
and
not forgetting the milk for mum's kittens .
A great view I have from the window
overlooking a large green
meadow.
Each dawn , I run to its grassy buxom
Where many a flowers blossom.
The sunflowers are still droopy
with sleep;
not yet from their flowery dreams peep .
Yesterday I saw no lilies among the bushes .
This morning
they appear from hiding places .
From afar a bird calls
Then another answers
Together they circle the
air
Wings flapping ; soaring with flair.
I breathe in the fresh fragrance .
All my senses in a deep trance
.
I spy at my dream paradise ;
waiting to see glorious sunrise .
This is how I start my new day;
each
day so happy and gay .
I'll be back here in the even song ;
When the shadows are deep and long.
